Economy Impacts Concerts

When will the music industry notice that it’s time to scale down ticket prices? The Eagles, who normally sell out, are nixing dates, such as a show last month at Citizens Bank Park. Rihanna cancelled her tour opener. Even the Warped Tour, which is normally a sell-out across the country, isn’t doing as well as 2010. The economy is having an impact on ticket sales. There just isn’t as much disposable income out there. But you would never guess that’s so if you check out ticket prices. Many summer tours feature tickets in triple digits. No wonder there are quite a few empty seats these days.
