Hats Off To Late Rock Critic

Jane Scott, who was one of the first ever rock critics, passed away at 92. The former Cleveland Plain Dealer scribe covered everyone from the Beatles to Britney Spears before hanging up her pen a decade ago. I once had the pleasure of running into Scott at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She was a charmer, who loved her work.  Every year I encounter rock scribes in Austin for South By Southwest, who don’t share Scott’s enthusiasm. It’s a shame about that and of the legendary writer’s passing.
